Hello, and welcome to my website! I figure an introduction is a good place to start, especially since a lot of my work is nonfiction.

I grew up about an hour outside of Charlotte, NC, and moved to Myrtle Beach, SC just before I started college at Coastal Carolina University. I graduated from the University in 2021 with my B.A. in English, then in 2022 with my M.A. in Writing. I am still at CCU, now teaching English.

During my time in the M.A. program, I worked on my thesis, which was a collection of creative nonfiction essays, titled Memories and Other Ghosts. I have been working on publishing some of those essays, while also working on my novel. As I work to publish more of my work, I will keep this website updated with links to publications and other relevant information!

Growing up, I often felt like my experiences were so strange and unique that no one could possibly relate or understand me. I was diagnosed with anxiety at age six, and at ten, my dad was diagnosed with cancer. He passed just before I started my senior year of high school. All of this made me feel like I was on an island, so far removed from everyone else my age. Just knowing that others understood my experiences made it feel easier somehow.

That is why my goal as a writer is to dig into my guts and spill them on the page, so in sifting through them, you might find pieces of yourself and know that you, too, are not alone.

In reading the things that have shaped me, I hope that you will be shaped too. I invite you to let your soul escape the confines of your skin, to let it be pressed and pulled by every word so that when it returns to you, it is altered, if only slightly.
